Since 2012 she has worked with an agency seeing adults referred by GP practices. Before training as a counsellor, she had many years’ experience working with different people groups, including pastoral care for over 30 years, setting up a Rape Crisis agency and working with people with all types of dementia and their carers’. She is a Registered Counsellor with BACP and a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors and is currently working towards accreditation. Sue has a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and a Level 5 Certificate in Integrating Creative Interventions for Counsellors. She works two days a week (Tuesday/Wednesday) offering daytime appointments in a private and comfortable garden office in a quiet, rural setting. She works integratively, using a wide range of creative activities as well as other Deep Release interventions as appropriate. Sarah works with adults of all ages as a general counsellor, and has particular experience in working with issues of later life, including dementia. She has been a member of Deep Release since 2013, and belongs to the South West Regional Training Group.
She has an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, a Level 5 Certificate in Integrating Creative Interventions for Counsellors, is a Registered Accredited Counselling Practitioner with the Association of Christian Counsellors, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Sarah was formerly an NHS Occupational Therapist working in both mental health and physical rehabilitation, so had prior training and experience in psychology and psychiatry before becoming a qualified counsellor in 2014. I attended a Deep Release Regional Training Group and the annual conference. I am a member of the Association of Christian Counsellors and BACP. I work in an integrative way, using creative interventions and deal with a wide range of issues including: anxiety, depression, bulling, work related stress, low self-esteem, bereavement, emotional and sexual abuse, and some forms of trauma. I started counselling in the voluntary sector in 2009 and now I am working towards running my own practice in Wolverhampton. I have also created and delivered confidence building courses for women who have suffered domestic violence.
During the last ten years, I have been involved specifically with supporting women and I run a women’s ministry in my local Baptist church. I worked in the Social Care sector for 24 years. I have a Level 5 Diploma in therapeutic counselling and have attended a two year Christian counselling course at Manna House. I presently work as an Empowerment officer with vulnerable adults as well as working as a Counsellor. I have worked as a Pastoral Deacon, Mentor, Trainer, Care Assessor and Internal Verifier.
